Gwandi is built on trust, respect, and local connection. These guidelines help ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone.
Prohibited Items & Services
To comply with local laws and ensure community safety, the following items and services are strictly prohibited on Gwandi. Posting these may result in account suspension or permanent banning.
Illegal & Regulated Items
- Drugs, narcotics, and drug paraphernalia
- Prescription medications and medical devices
- Alcohol and tobacco products (including vapes)
- Weapons, firearms, ammunition, and explosives
- Stolen goods or property
- Counterfeit items or currency
Safety & Hazardous Materials
- Hazardous chemicals and pesticides
- Fireworks and pyrotechnics
- Recalled products
- Human parts, fluids, or remains
- Live animals (except for rehoming/adoption where legal)
Adult & Inappropriate Content
- Pornography and adult-oriented material
- Sexual services or solicitation
- Hate speech or discriminatory content
- Violent or graphic imagery
Financial & Data
- Personal financial information
- Identity documents (passports, licenses)
- Multi-level marketing (MLM) schemes
- Cryptocurrency or financial trading services
Community Conduct
Respect & Kindness
Treat every neighbour with respect. Harassment, bullying, hate speech, and discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, or disability will not be tolerated.
Honesty & Transparency
Be accurate in your listings. Describe items and services truthfully, including any defects or limitations. Do not mislead others about your identity or location.
Reliability
If you agree to a swap, show up on time and communicate clearly. If you need to cancel, provide as much notice as possible. Repeated no-shows may lead to account restrictions.
Safety First
Meeting in Person
- Meet in public, well-lit places whenever possible.
- Tell a friend or family member where you are going.
- Use the in-app "Safety Timer" feature.
- Trust your instincts—if something feels off, leave.
Digital Safety
- Keep communication within the Gwandi app.
- Never share your password or financial details.
- Report suspicious behavior immediately.
Enforcement
Gwandi reserves the right to remove any listing or suspend any account that violates these guidelines. We may also cooperate with law enforcement if illegal activity is suspected.
